Hey lovelies!

Have you been following a proper intimate care regimen during and after pregnancy? Let me tell you about its importance in my blog post today!

As women, our body goes through several hormonal changes during and after pregnancy. During this period, due to hormonal changes, the intimate area is prone to infections and excessive discharge. Additionally, this disturbs the pH balance which leads to irritation and itching in the intimate area. To maintain the right pH balance, it is essential to include intimate care products in our personal hygiene routine.

To cater to this need of ours, Himalaya FOR MOMS has come up with an Intimate Care range –   Intimate Wash and Intimate Wipes.

1. Himalaya FOR MOMS Intimate Wash

Himalaya FOR MOMS Intimate Wash is specially formulated for mothers to gently cleanse the intimate area. It is infused with Tea Tree Oil, which helps relieve itching and irritation, and Pongamia Oil, which helps prevent odor. Also, it lathers well, and the fragrance is not very strong.

How to Use:

Apply Himalaya Intimate Wash gently on the external intimate area from front to back and rinse with water. You can use the wash twice a day.

Price –  ₹116 for 100 ml and ₹205 for 200 ml

2. Himalaya FOR MOMS Intimate Wipes

Just like the wash, the wipes are an essential intimate care product, especially while traveling. I carry a pack of wipes in my handbag when I’m on the move. The wipes are a perfect solution to keep the intimate area clean. The wipes are enriched with Lavender Oil and Pongamia Oil. Lavender Oil helps prevent odor and Pongamia Oil helps reduce itching, irritation, and dryness.

Price– ₹50 for 10s and ₹110 for 25s

So, guys, I do understand that most of us don’t get time for ourselves as we are so busy taking care of our children. Also, some of us are not comfortable talking about intimate care and hygiene. But, these small things play a very important role in our personal hygiene and don’t take much time. As I always say, SELF CARE comes first! Big thumbs up to both these products by Himalaya FOR MOMS.

Do try them and don’t forget to share your reviews with me.

Wonder Years Jaipur- Experience Fun with Learning!

Hey Guys

Choosing the right pre-school for your child can prove to be a very difficult task. The feeling of leaving your lil one alone in a new place for hours on a stretch is no less than a mini heart attack. But if you keep a couple of things in mind, pre-schooling could be a joyride for you and your little VIP.

My fears got relieved when I visited Wonder Years Pre-School with Shiv where we met Ms. Sharmila Galundia, patron of the school and a seasoned teacher with years of experience in dealing with young minds.

Wonder Years follows Reggio Emilia inspired, emergent curriculum founded on the child’s curiosity. It is an experiential approach to learning and discovery of ideas. A rounded development is envisioned with an emphasis on social, cognitive, personal, physical and emotional well-being. The collaborators work together to create a stimulating environment where an idea is explored via discussions and hands-on experiences.

There are no conventional classrooms in the schools but different learning zones like —  Shakespeare’s Studio which is music and movement room, Creative Cove which fosters creative freedom and imagination, Building Blocks which is a space for logical, scientific and numerical development, Yogi Beans which focuses on gross motor skills and physical development of the children.

Ms. Sharmila has taken care of the minutest of details in conceptualizing the school. What inspired me the most was the use of natural material like wood, sand, twigs, tree branches, etc. instead of the usual plastic toys and other items.
The school is designed to provide an unrestricted and varied environment which fosters the children to learn things using their individual and unique sensibility.

Wonder Years is a blessing in disguise for all you new mothers who are looking to get back to work. Their Day-Care Facility is equipped with all the safety and comfort amenities fused with homely vibes to ensure your young one is at ease while learning.

And this is not it, the school also doubles up as a After-School Activity Centre, wherein they conduct a slew of exciting and fun activities for children like creative writing, skating, dance, music, art & craft, theatre, personality grooming, book reading, public speaking, tabletop cooking, indoor games, yoga, martial arts, organic gardening, DIY workshops, to name a few.

So thats it guys! I hope you had a Happy Read. Please leave your queries, if any, in the comment section below. Also, do not forget to follow me on Instagram for regular updates.

Happy Weaning!

Namaste everyone

Hope you all are doing good.

So today, I’ll be answering the most commonly asked questions by moms. How did you start weaning? What food do give to Shiv? When did you start solid food? Etc etc .

So, Shiv was exclusively breastfed for 6 months. I never gave him top feed or any other source of nutrition before that. Many people start with Dal ka pani and water at around 4 months. But I do not recommend this. Breastmilk has all the required nutrients for a baby until 6 months.

See, I listen to my paediatrician and do everything according to him, and this has worked really well for me. ‘Doctor to yuheen kehte hain’ is the most commonly heard phrase from our relatives. But our doctors have studied for 10 long years guys. They know better than any of our family members or acquaintances . Why will the doctors advise something that’s not important? Think about it!

Anyways! Let’s begin with how I started weaning?
I started weaning at 6 months exactly. The first meal I gave Shiv was 2 spoons of coconut water. He got so excited after the first sip. I guess it happens with everyone.

How to begin?

Begin with 3 meals daily, 1/4th katori (bowl).
First Meal(Liquid)- Dal ka pani, Vegetable Soup, coconut water

Second Meal(fruit purees, blended properly)- banana, boiled apple, chikoo, seasonal fruits. Avoid sour fruits initially.

Third meal(Solid food)- khichdi, Daliya, Sooji kheer, Oatmeal, sooji halwa. Use breastmilk for cooking if needed.

Sips of water throughout day.

Increase the quantity to 1/2 katori after 15 days and add another solid meal
1 solid + 1 liquid + 1 fruit purée + 1 solid

Increase the quantity to 1 katori after next 15 days and add one more solid.
1 solid + 1 liquid + 1 solid + 1 fruit + 1 solid

After Shiv turned 7 months old, I started putting vegetables to his solid meals. Pumpkin, bottle gourd, carrots, beans, broccoli were my favourites. Avoid giving tomatoes initially. Also, I started with Paneer blended with Dal or vegetables, Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes at around 8 months.

Keep increasing the consistency of the food slowly. You may also use Amul full cream milk after 8 months for cooking food. No cows milk please. It contains high amount of proteins which are difficult to digest. Also, it lacks the right amount of iron required by the baby.

Things to avoid till 1 year
Cows milk

My baby doesn’t eat. What to do? Should I add salt or sugar to his/her food for flavour?
Well! This is again a very frequently asked question.
Weaning is very important, and it’s on us how we deal with it. Our babies will put us into a difficult situation for sure. That’s completely normal. That doesn’t mean that they need flavour. Let me make it very clear that OUR BABIES KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FLAVOUR INITIALLY. We will have to work hard and keep trying. Try to distract the baby with stories, toys, lights, flowers, shoes…anything. Let them watch television guys if that helps them eat. It’s just a matter of 10 minutes. I remember I used to take Shiv to the garden, or the temple in our house, or my mom in law used to talk while I spoon fed him. So there are many many ways. Never give up. Keep trying hard. Search for new ways and never panic.

Most importantly, always think positive. Thoughts like ‘Offo she won’t eat now’ , ‘Why isn’t she eating?’, ‘It is very difficult to make her eat’ are negative thoughts. Instead think that ‘My kid is a good girl’, ‘She will eat properly’, ‘She will love what I have cooked today’ are some positive thoughts that should always be there in your mind.

Things to remember:

1. Try using a high chair so that the baby can learn to sit and eat properly.

2. Never force feed the baby. Always remember that babies would never starve themselves.

That’s it guys! Let me know if you want to know about anything else in the comment section below. Also, Shiv(11 months) is going through a difficult teething phase right now. He does not want to eat anything. So, all you experienced and beautiful moms, please suggest me ways to deal with this cranky phase.. I shall be grateful.

Take care

My Postpartum Weight Loss Journey!

Hello Lovelies

I am finally sharing the most requested post today- MY POST PARTUM WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY! See, I am a normal woman who gained weight, then lost some, ate healthy, ate poor also and has also been very lazy to work out sometimes. I do not have that perfect body right now and I don’t consider myself to be fitness influencer.

I really feel that every human body is different and it’s more important to appreciate your body and find ways that work best for you. To be honest, my body has always been on the slimmer side(thanks to my genes and good metabolism). And according to me, this factor plays a very essential role.

But ultimately, you guys have continually asked about my weight loss journey. So here I am with some tips that I feel really helped me lose those 20 kgs faster.

Breastfeeding– Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months has helped me reduce weight in a very big way. I know not every woman can breastfeed. No judgement here. But if you can, I suggest every mama to stick to it. I consider it to be a blessing for both Mom and Baby. It burns upto 500 calories per day. Yes, you read that right!

Healthy diet– I was breastfeeding and Diet plays the most important role here. I did not deprive myself and never restricted my portion sizes. I focussed more on filling my tummy with a balanced diet. Oat meal; Dal,Roti,Sabzi; Daliya(Porridge); Salads(after first 40 days); Milk; and lots of water. I used to have Makhana(Fox nuts) whenever I craved for some snacks. That’s it! What I completely avoided in the initial months was White sugar(Instead use Coconut sugar and Jaggery) and Too much Ghee(Just total 2 big Spoons daily)

Walks and Baby jobs– I started walking as soon as I felt comfortable. Please don’t be bed ridden all the time and always listen to your body.  I went through a c-section, but made sure to walk in my room and do all my baby’s work everyday, like massage, bathing, changing diapers, making him sleep, on my own. I did not take much help from my Jappa wali Bai. All this definitely helped me bond with my baby more and I felt happy  and good about myself. In fact I feel proud of myself today. I believe that keeping yourself engrossed in your newborn will help you stay healthy mentally. And I consider this to be a reason why I did not suffer from Post Partum Depression.

Work Out– I started doing mild yoga 3.5 months post delivery.  Just simple stretches at home  and brisk walks for only 10-15 minutes was my daily workout. I suggest to begin steadily, especially if you have had a c-section. And also, most importantly, never start anything without consulting your doctor. At around 6 months, I was doing running(sometimes) and more yoga. Today, I do 20 sit-ups, 10 suryanamaskars , 10 squats , 10 lunges and some leg rotations every day at home.

DSC_8277an4 I am still 3 kgs above my pre prgnancy weight. I plan to join a gym after Shiv turns 1 year old. I definitely need some body toning now.

My personal advice for the post partum period would be to focus on feeling POSITIVE and HAPPY again, rather than losing weight. Just eat healthy, feel nourished and exercise. Give yourself confidence and grace. Never forget that you have created a miracle.

So, That’s it guys! I hope you had a happy read. Please do not forget to give your reviews in the comment section below. Also, I would love to hear your weight loss stories.

My Third Trimester- The Final Stretch!

Hello beautiful people

A very very Happy Diwali to all of you! Well! This post was supposed to be published on Diwali, and I am really sorry for the delay. I was pre occupied by a lot of stuff. I know you guys will understand.

So, today’s Blogpost is about the final stage of my pregnancy – The Third Trimester.
Let’s begin and Happy Reading!

My second trimester flew by so fast. I think when you feel fabulous the time goes by faster. Read all about my second trimester here if you haven’t .

The energy I felt during my second trimester, I was hopeful that it would continue for a few weeks more. I was wrong. My third trimester was a flipping physical challenge . I enjoyed being pregnant and I loved my bump. But, it was not so easy on the body.

Third trimester woes first:

No sleep: Sleeping became a little difficult. My belly was much larger now, so turning over became a challenge. I couldn’t sleep on my back anymore as it puts too much pressure. And I had to wake up several times to use the washroom.

Weight gain: There is a drastic weight gain as soon as you enter the third trimester. It felt as if someone was filling air into me. I gained around 12 kgs during this time. I wondered how people with large bellies live! lol

Body discomforts: Back aches, heartburn, swollen feet and lots of fatigue comes along. It makes you feel that you just want your baby in your arms and your pregnancy to be over.

No clothes: You get bored wearing the same clothes every third day. My wardrobe had just those few 5-6 outfits which I wore consecutively. I didn’t feel like spending too much on my maternity clothes as they would be of no use later.

Nervousness: As the time for delivery nears, I experienced a lot of fear about childbirth. I always worried about how painful my labour would be, how long will it last and will I be able to manage the baby or not. All these things bothered me and I felt worried.

Good things now

Guilt free eating: I craved for lots of sweets during these three months. I remember having a full bucket of Baskin Robbins ice cream at night. I didn’t care about gaining another pound because at this point, what’s one more pound? Lol

Centre of attraction: Your aura is so good at this time that everyone is attracted towards you. I have noticed people opening the doors, asking me if I need assistance and always smiling at me. It is such a great feeling.

So much love: I got so much love and care from my husband during this time. He was so supportive. How are you feeling today? Have you eaten? Shall I give you a massage? Did you sleep well? These were the daily questions in my third trimester. He became one of those dreamy husband and I felt blessed to have him.

Excitement: The excitement that you are just some months….weeks…days…away from meeting your little one and adding a blessing to your family makes all the woes worth it!

Some tips from me to handle the third trimester

  1. Start going for a minimum 1/2 hour walk daily.
  2. Do Duck walking as soon as you enter the 8th month.
  3. Whenever you feel down, just talk to you baby bump.
  4. Eat healthy and avoid junk.
  5. Avoid spicy food as they cause heartburn and gas.
  6. Attend Childbirth classes.
  7. Avoid going to public washrooms. Even if you do, use toilet seat sanitisers like PeeSafe.
  8. Pamper yourself by going for shopping and meeting friends.
  9. Do your baby shopping. Try buying neutral colours.
  10. Drink plenty of water and take adequate rest.

This is it guys! I am sure there are many more things that happened/will happen with you. Please do share it with me. I would love to hear them from you.

And also, please do not forget to give your reviews in the comment section below. Thanks for reading. I love you all!

I will soon be back with another post on MY BIRTH STORY. So, Stay Tuned and spread lots of love!

My Baby Shower

Hello Peeps

During my third trimester, my family threw the most beautiful and happening baby shower for me and my baby. It was definitely a day I would never forget.. After reading this post, I am sure all moms to be will start planning their baby shower this way. Yes, it was a little ‘LOG KYA KAHENGE’ type of party. But, I always wanted it this way and I am so happy that it turned out being so amazing and successful.

So, lets begin!

Theme: I always wished for a very non traditional, western and a modern baby shower, more of a fun party. I knew I wanted a very different theme. Because it was summers, so we chose it to be A SUNDOWNER PARTY. We planned it on a Sunday so that we could start early by 5pm and get back home well in time.(This didn’t happen fortunately😜)

The cocktail Bar!

Dress code: Well! Sundowner means comfort. So there was no need for a dress code. But still we chose it to be ALL WHITE. It looked so picturesque. Everyone was in white while people from the family wore pinks and blues. I chose to wear a beautiful baby pink gown by Vaunt Designer Clothing and Avinash wore this baby blue suit by Vasnam.

Venue: The venue of the party was VUE in Paradise hotel, Jaipur. This place is perfect to host a Sundowner party. It is a rooftop lounge and has that perfect and mesmerising sunset view. They have a well trained and friendly staff, especially the bartender; and their food is amazing.

Food: No one wants to gorge on heavy food so early, so we chose to keep bite sized and finger food for starters. Pizzas, Quesadillas, jalepeno poppers and grilled paneer were some of them. The best part was that all our guests were munching on these till the very end. Later, we ended the party with a proper dinner also.

The cheese Bar!

Drinks: These were the highlights of our party. We started with very light and summery drinks like wine, sangrias, beer, margaritas and fruit based mocktails. They were served with a delicious cheese platter. I was  munching on the cheeses till the end of the party (#pregnancycravings)…Later, everyone hopped to the actual bar😜

Don’t worry! That’s water:)

Decoration: Me and Avinash wanted to invest less in decorations as venue itself is so beautiful. So, we just bought some balloons and baby banners from Party Hunters, Jaipur. We also made a photobooth for some fun.

That view…ahaaa

Some DIY baby shower badges

That kiss!

Family Girls Gang

Giveaways: This was my favourite part. Just like our theme, I wanted the giveaway to be very different. So, we made a hamper containing Cookies (by Brown Sugar Jaipur) and BABY MAKING POTION. Actually, we put this sticker on a Vodka bottle. How cool is that!

I am so happy that everything turned out absolutely perfect, it felt surreal. And I am so so thankful to our tribe of friends who came up  to celebrate our miracle. Lots of love to everyone..

So guys…How did you like this post? Isn’t it amazing? Please let me know by commenting below…And Do not forget to follow me on Instagram for more….

Much love

Special announcement…..

Helloooo Lovely people

My apologies for coming back after so long. It has been almost a year since my last post. I missed you guys so much. But I am back with a bomb….a very special news……*surprise* ……..Me and Avinash became parents to a baby BOY.

Haha, YES I didn’t even reveal it on any of the social media. But I swear my pregnancy was the most fascinating and beautiful experience. These were probably the sweetest days of my life.

So, let us start from the very beginning…what do you say?🤗

My Pregnancy- The Good News

On September 2016, almost after two and a half years of being married, I got to know that I was pregnant. Tha-dah….in the blink of an eye, my entire life changed. That feeling of having a baby inside you is unexplainable. Then, I surprised Avinash and told him about it, and his reaction and that happy face will forever be in my memory. The best part was, it was his birthday also. Avinash said that this was the most precious gift he could ask for ever in his life. We both were so happy and we couldn’t hold our excitement to share this news with our family. That day was just so perfect.

As of today, my baby is almost one and half months old and I sometimes really miss my pregnancy journey. So, here I am sharing my pregnancy with you all…I hope you people will like it..

In my coming posts I would be sharing my pregnancy experiences order wise starting from the first trimester and we’ll also talk about maternity fashion and what all I wore during those lovely days.

This is one of our happiest moments. ‘We are pregnant’ is the most beautiful feeling in the world, I swear.

In these pictures,  I am wearing a wrinkled cotton dress by Tuli by Vaunt and the Blue topaz chain is from Shree Durga Jeweller. Follow them on Instagram and check out their amazing collection.
